SBC Week 7: Hunger

STOP!  Ok, before continuing I want you to think about something.  What did you have for dinner last night? Breakfast today? You probably ate something right? Well, I don’t think you realize how lucky you are.

Every day, you probably eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some snacks.  You just find something to eat on your plate, in your lunchbox, or in your bag and you probably think: Oh, cool.  Food.  I’m just going to eat it. Did it ever come to you that not everyone HAS food?  I’m serious.

Everyday, there are people who don’t have food to eat.  They either scavenge around trash cans for food or don’t eat at all.  Not everyone can afford food.  There are 815 million people that don’t eat or don’t have enough to eat. You’re probably thinking: Just go get Mc Donalds! It is so cheap there! But what if they don’t HAVE a Mc Donalds? What is the can’t AFFORD Mc Donalds?

Well, what can we do to help? You can donate canned food to different charities or organizations or give food to the homeless.

I want to tell you a story.  You can watch it here.  This video shows just how much one person can help others.

What do YOU think you can do to help people that can’t afford food?

Here are some links if you want to learn more about world hunger:

Well that’s all for now!

Keep Rocking!

~Jenn

    Hi Jennifer,

I really found that your post is valuable and interesting. The other day, I thought while eating my food about those who have totally nothing to eat. And you have mentioned those points about the people who have nothing to eat. I think that this post can make the whole world aware of what is happening. I hope that many people will visit this post.

    Thanks,
    Phakamon

    Hi Jenn!
That was so eye-opening…. someone dies every 3.6 seconds?! Wow. I am actually doing a big project on world hunger, so the websites you listed were so helpful! World Hunger is such a terrible problem, especially since if we distributed all of the food in the world equally, EVERYONE would have PLENTY. Can you visit my blog? Here’s the link- http://bmdav.edublogs.org/ Your post was so well written! Thanks! -Brooke

    Hey Jenn,
This post was very well written and you also included the causes and effects of hunger. I understand how lucky I am to have what I have an am grateful, I cannot imagine going through what the hungry people are going through. To help, I donate cans and go on mission trips with my church. We help build shelters, pack can foods, and help around warehouses. Me and my youth group members have not yet seen the worst or the worst, but we have gotten fairly close and we can imagine it.

    Jennifer,

This is a very inspiring post. I can’t even imagine the feeling of not having food on my plate come meal time. These are life-changing facts. The one that surprised me the most was, 815 million people don’t have food or don’t have enough food come meal time. In case you would like to take a peek at my blog here is the link. http://jahor92d.edublogs.org/

I really liked your post about hunger. Many people don’t realize that 815 million people don’t have enough access to food. Also, I loved all of your statistics and facts that you put in your post, they were really helpful. Finally, the additional links were a nice added bonus to the post. Thank you so much for sharing and hopefully everyone else will listen to this information.
