Live With Yourself!

There’s no image for it, so here’s the Webtoons Logo?

Webtoon series: No. 3!  Is this going to be a series now?  Okay, lets make these a series I guess.  Anyway, Live With Yourself!

Live With Yourself is about Todd, who works for a company called Mr. Fixit’s Computer Repair.  One New Year’s Eve, he gets an assignment to remove a virus from a computer located in an isolated warehouse.  He goes to the warehouse and installs a new virus, called timebomb.exe, which removes the viruses, stores them, then releases it back into the computer in a month or two.  Which, is actually smart because then people will keep coming back to their company.

Anyway, he installs timebomb.exe, but an alarm goes off and it triggers a machine thing that explodes.  Smoke engulfs Todd, and three people follow him home.  Todd then finds out that the explosion created Todd as a child (Babs), a future Todd (Tomo), and an elderly Todd (Oldie). Todd is then forced to live with them and he learns about cause and effect.  For example, when Todd tries to smoke, he sees that whenever he tries, Tomo starts to get affected.  Smoking would make Tomo look worse and drinking would give him headaches.

Todd then later learns that they have unique time powers. Babs can age things by, as Tomo says, “pulling it into the past and aging it by decades”.  Tomo can predict Todd’s future, which makes sense, because Tomo is Todd from the future.  Oldie can rearrange the order of which things come in.  Such as, a stick falls from a tree then a bird flies overhead.  Oldie could make it so that a bird flies overhead then a stick falls from a tree.  So I guess that’s pretty cool.

But anyway, Live With Yourself!, is basically Todd trying to get through life with four of himself around.

Flow

Hey everyone! I’m back with another Webtoon called Flow.

So what is it?

Flow is about the main character, Irang, who gets beaten up so bad he needs to get hospitalized, he looses his sight, and he can’t walk anymore… and it’s his birthday.  I know, sucks right?  Anyway, he makes a wish and he gets to go back in time and relive his birthday. Now, he can avoid getting beat up and have a great birthday.  Nothing bad could happen. Right?  Well, he relives the day and goes to the restaurant he works at and refuses to deliver a package, since that’s how he got beaten up last time, so his friend takes it for him.  But it’s delivered to a different place.  His friend, Yulbi, goes to the port to deliver the food, but all of a sudden, the sky goes dark, thunder and lightning strike, and a large tsunami comes.  Irang, his other friend Ryun, and Ryun’s friend Harin go to the port to investigate and find a large, black monster with many red eyes eating Yulbi.  Wow! Uh, okay that’s pretty violent but that didn’t happen the first time.

Anyway, after a while the monster disappears and Irang gets a letter from a highschool, where only the powerful and zodiac kids go to.  He speaks to the principal, and the principal tells Irang that he can help him go back in time again and redo his wish.  But, he has to train at the highschool and learn how to control his power.  Why wasn’t he in highschool before?  Well, like I said, the highschools only let in the powerful and zodiac kids and Irang is a cat, one of the weakest animals.

Now let me explain the animals and wishes thing.

In this story, everyone is born with an animal god parent.  Some of the strongest are the zodiacs: dragon, tiger, mouse, etc.  All the powerful kids get to go to highschool, where they learn to control their powers and not abuse them.  Each person also gets one wish that their animal god parent grants them, but the type of wish you can get granted depends on the animal you have.  If you’re a cat, you won’t get as much choices as a child of one of the four guardians.  But when you make a wish, there’s a price to pay.  This is why Yulbi dies when Irang goes back in time.  What are the four guardians, you may ask?  Well, the four guardians are the people that are children of the black tortoise, the white tiger, the blue dragon, and the red phoenix.  These are the strongest gods and they can grant almost any wish.

Now let me explain powers.

Everyone has certain powers that they get.  There are five different kinds of skills.  Ignition, Transference, Separation, Amplification, and Transformation.  Ignition is a way to form your amina so that you can see it and use.  Separation is when you use Ignition and split your amina so it makes two or more aminas for you to use.  Amplification is used to amplify your amina’s power.  Transference is used on objects, where you can turn the object into your amina, or you can turn your body parts into your anima, but only if you’re really advanced.  Finally, Transformation, which you can use to change your amina’s form, but it still needs to be the same animal.  There’s also Vow, where you can give your anima to someone else.

Dice

Hey everyone!  Recently, I’ve found a webtoon called Dice, and I highly recommend it.  So what is it?

Dice is about the main character, Dongtae, who gets bullied a lot by his classmates.  One day, a new student comes to his school.  He then encounters Taebin, the new transfer student, on the rooftop of a building and finds a blue dice.  Taebin tackles Dongtae in attempt to get the dice back, but Dongtae accidently lets go of it and rolls it.  The dice then turns red and Dongtae gets a message from a person, who goes by X, who tells him that he became a Dicer.

Well, what’s a Dicer?

A Dicer is a person that collects dice by doing quests that are given to them by X.  The dice that is given are magical, and can be used to change your appearance, strength, agility, intellegence, and so much more.  When a dicer completes a quest, they normally get a blue dice.  When they roll the dice, it becomes red and they can use it to improve their skills, and only they can use it.  Sometimes. Dicers will get a special quest that will give them a dice with a special ability on it, like flight, teleportation, invisibility, or time pausing and these dicers are known as A-rank.

I really like this webtoon and I highly recommend it to people who like fantasy and violent books.  There are many other webtoons that I recommend, such as Lumine, Flow, Refund Highschool, A Good Day to be a Dog, The Gamer, Bluechair, and Live With Yourself.  I’ll probably talk more about some of these webtoons in later posts, so if you wanna learn more about some of these weboons, then you could check them out.

Hour of Code Game

Screenshot taken by me

For week 9, I tried a game on Hour of Code called “Code Combat“.  It’s a pretty interesting game, but it’s more complex and I suggest that you should do a beginner level one first, since in this one, you have to type out the code.  There’s also a lot of different types of code that are used throughout the game.  That makes this game a bit hard.

In the game, you go through many different levels that you have to code yourself.  The game gives tells you what to, like slow down robots or make a character bigger or stronger.  After you finish coding, you get to play the game.  But sometimes something goes wrong, and you have to fix it by either adding, deleting, or changing a code.

The game also allows you to change things in the different stages.  For example, you could change the background to either a forest, desert, or mountain terrain.  If the level consists of a maze, you can change the style of the maze.  Another thing you can do is spawn gems or change your character and enhance the character’s abilities, like make it ridiculously fast or strong.

This game can be a bit frustrating, but I recommend it if you like games like that or if you want to challenge yourself.

Well, that’s all for now!  Annyeong!

SBC Week 8: How To Make Peppermint Bark

Onion haseyo everyone!  Today, I will be teaching you how to make one of my favorite holiday treats: Peppermint bark!  But before we make it, we need ingredients:

30 crushed peppermint hard candies

1 1/2 pounds milk chocolate candy, coarsely chopped

1 1/2 pounds white chocolate candy, chopped

1 teaspoon oil-based peppermint flavoring

9×13 inch pan

wax paper

Steps:

  1. WASH YO HANDS!  You don’t want dirty bark, that’s just gross.  Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, then dry them well.
  2. Line the 9×13 inch pan with wax paper.
  3. Spread a third of the peppermint candies over the wax paper in the pan.
  4. Melt the milk chocolate on top of a double boiler over just-barely simmering water.  Stir frequently and use a rubber spatula to scrape the chocolate off the edges so it doesn’t burn.  Keep the chocolate there until it melts.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate over the peppermint candy in the pan then sprinkle another third of the peppermint candy on top of the melted chocolate.
  6. Put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
  7.  Do the same with the white chocolate, but add the peppermint oil-based flavoring.
  8. Pour the white chocolate over the milk chocolate then spread the last third of peppermint candies on top.
  9. Refrigerate the chocolate for 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
  10. When it finishes, SMASH IT! I mean… break it up into pieces for serving.
  11. Enjoy!

I hope this is a good recipe, cuz I got it off the internet, and I hope you try it sometime!

The website I got the recipe from

SBC Week 7: My Ultimate Group

Onion haseyo everyone!  Today, I will be talking about my ultimate group and my ultimate bias.  LES GEDDIT!

I would have to say Day6 is my Ultimate Group.  They produce such good music and they’re all really unique, but they’re underrated.  Day6 is actually a krock band that was formed under JYP Entertainment in 2015.  The band originally consisted of six members, but now only has five, since Junhyeok left.  The members include Bob the Builder, Chicken Little, Brian, Pink Sweater, and Drum.  Okay, no, I’m kidding.  Their real names are Sungjin, Jae, Young K (but no one calls him that.  They call him BRIAN), Wonpil, and Dowoon.

Jae is my ultimate bias because he’s super funny, he has great vocals, and he plays the guitar really well.  His youtube videos on his channel, Jaesix, are really funny because everyone roasts him (even on his Twitter).  He is also a HUGE meme cuz he’s so weird.  He’s also very passionate about music and plays multiple instruments and sometimes writes Day6’s songs.

He is also super caring and once, he even stopped a performance mid-song because a fan fainted and wanted to see if she was okay.  He also once he came to a fan meet even though he was so sick he needed to hospitalized, but he still came to the meet anyway even after Day6 announced that he wouldn’t be coming.  Basically he felt so guilty about not coming to a fan meet, that he literally jumped out and ran away from the hospital to be at the fan meet.  At the end of that fan meet, Jae, Sungjin, and Wonpil all got super emotional and started crying because they weren’t expecting him to show up.

Overall though, Jae is a really great person, and he and Day6 should receive more love.

Well, that’s all for now! Annyeong!

Things I Wonder

Onion haseyo everyone!  So… I’m a weird person and I have a lot of random qustions.  So here are some random questions I have and see if there’s anything that answers them!

Questions:

  1. Is sand called sand because it’s between the sea and the land?
  2. Why is the sky blue?
  3. Why doesn’t glue stick to the bottle?
  4. Is time real or just an illusion we all decided to interpret?
  5. What is the difference between living and being alive?
  6. (I already know the answer to this, but…) Is water wet?
  7. What is life?

Answers:

  1. According to a user on Quora, “The English word ‘sand’ comes from Old Dutch/proto-German ‘zand’, which has nothing to do with either sea OR land, but referred originally to unstable ground, as near rivers.”
  2. We see a blue sky when first, the rays of sun, which have all the colors of the rainbow in it, reflects off of the Earth’s surface.  Blue light is then scattered everywhere by the tiny molecules of air in the Earth’s atmosphere.  Since blue has shorter light waves, it is scattered more than the other colors, which is why we mostly see a blue sky.  (Information gathered from NASA.)
  3. Well, the normal white glue contains water, which keeps the glue liquid until you want it to make something stick.  When you put the glue on paper or something, the water is exposed to air, which makes the water evaporate.  While the water evaporates, the glue hardens and dries, but still holds things together.  Since there’s little to no air in the bottle, the water can’t evaporate, therefore the glue doesn’t harden and stick to the bottle.  (Information gathered from Wonderopolis)
  4. According to Express, there’s a lot of confusion and arguments about time.  Some scientists think that time is just a human construct and some argue that there is a “block universe where space and time are connected”.  The “block universe” theory is supported by Einstein’s theory of relativity, which states that: “Space and time are (shouldn’t it be ‘is’?) part of a four dimensional structure where everything that has happened has its own coordinates in spacetime, which would allow everything to be “real” in the sense that the past and the future are still there in spacetime, making everything as equally important as the present.  I don’t know what to think now, but it’s still a large mystery.
  5. The difference between living and being alive is that living is just eating, breathing, drinking, etc.  But being alive is being with your loved ones and enjoying your life and doing stuff.
  6.  Water is not wet.  The act of being wet is having liquid molecules stuck to something, whereas water is a liquid that wets things.
  7. According to the dictionary, life is “The condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally”.

Trimester 1 Best Work: Math

Onion haseyo everyone!  I am here with my best math work for trimester 1.  My best work is a Banzai Financial Literacy Slideshow that I did with Skye.  I chose this piece because Skye and I did really well on it and we got a good grade.  The object of this assignment was to make a presentation to help the 7th graders with Banzai, a website that helps you learn about financial literacy.

Trimester 1 Best Work: Research Skills

Onion haseyo everyone!  So one of my best works in Research Skills was probably my Who I Am presentation because I thought I did really well on it, and I got to find out a lot about my family while writing it.  The objective of the assignment was to make a presentation about you, your ethnicity, and your heritage.  Here’s the presentation:
