Summer Wars

Today, I am writing about a movie called Summer Wars.  I watched this movie a few years ago and I still remember the movie.  I thought it was a great movie.

SPOILER ALERT

Summer Wars is about a boy named Kenji, who is a math genius.  One day, him and his friend Takashi are asked by Natsuki, a girl a year older than them, to go with them for a “job”. Before I continue, there is something that has a BIG significance to the movie.  There is a program called OZ that allows you to customize a character.

Random dude: PSHHHH. So? It’s just another one of those online games.

Me: NO IT’S NOT.

OZ also connects to EVERYTHING as a virtual world.  So Kenji, accepting Natsuki’s “job” goes with her to Ueda, while finding out that he has to participate in Natsuki’s grandma’s 90th birthday.  There he finds out that he has to act as her Fiancé and he has to stay with her family.  While he is there, he gets an email with a math code, and Kenji, being some kind of math genius, cracks the code. Yay… Kenji… You cracked the code, you’re so great… NO HE’S NOT! While cracking the code, he releases an AI that takes over his account.  The AI called Love Machine, hacks the system, which causes chaos in the town from traffic congestion to disabling electric devices while also corrupting players’ accounts.  You have to watch the movie to know the rest.

Fairy Tail

Hey guys!  Today, I am going to tell you about my favorite anime, FAIRY TAIL!  Fairy Tail is about a girl named Lucy who joins a magical guild called Fairy Tail.  She makes friends with the guild members and goes on a lot of adventures.  She forms a team with Natsu, Happy, Gray, and Erza.  They battle dark guilds and monsters.

I have so many favorite characters and some people ship some of the characters.  Some popular ships include:

Nalu (NatsuXLucy):

I personally don’t see this ship or them being together in a relationship.  (Sorry NaLu shippers!)

Gruvia (GrayXJuvia):

I ship it! Not my favorite ship, but it’s one of my ships.

Jerza (JellalXErza):

This is one of my favorite ships.  They’re so cute together!

GaLe (GajeelXLevy):

This is another one of my favorite ships.

LoLu (LokeXLucy):

This is ANOTHER one of my favorite ships.  Hey! Don’t leave!  I know this ship may never happen, but… Oh, yeah.  Let me explain.  Lucy is a celestial wizard.  She owns some of the 12 zodiac keys as well as the silver keys.  Loke (aka Leo) is the Leo zodiac, so in other words, he is a spirit.  Lucy OWNS Loke after saving him from dying.  Since Loke is a spirit he will proably live forever. Even though this ship may never happen, I still ship it.

There are many different kinds of magic in Fairy Tail.  Some include:

  • Ice Make Magic: Magic that uses ice to make things.
  • Dragon Slayer Magic: Powerful magic originally used to slay dragons
  • Demon Slayer Magic: Powerful magic originally used to slay demons
  • Celestial Magic: Magic used to summon celestial spirits
  • Requip Magic: Magic used to hold and use weapons
  • Air Magic: Magic that allows the user to manipulate the air around them
  • Animal Soul: Magic used to allow the user to change different body parts into an animal’s
  • Beast Soul: Magic used to allow the user to change different body parts into a beast’s
  • Doll Attack: Magic that allows the user to take control of an object
  • Gravity Magic: Magic that allows the user to manipulate the gravity around them
  • Letter Magic: Magic that utilizes the word written by the user

Well, that all for now!

Aye Sir!

New Year’s Resolutions

Hey guys! Happy New Year! Everyone has New Years resolutions right? Oh, not everyone? Ok. Anyway, here are some of my New Years resolutions:

2018 Book Challenge:

Skye, Kira, and I decided to do a 2018 Book Challenge.  Basically, we read as many books as we can until 2019.  We log our books and whoever reads the most wins!  I think it will be a really interesting challenge, since we read a lot.  We have reading requirements, such as 100 pages or more for paper books and 100 words or more for online books, such as MyOn.  I can achieve this goal by reading 1 or 2 books on the week days and maybe 3 or 4 books on the weekends.

Get good grades:

Well, this resolution speaks for itself, but I just want to get good grades to get into a good school.  I am going to do it by taking my work seriously and not procrastinating.

I found a site for how to get good grades here.  One of them is “Know How to Read a Textbook”.  Uhh, ok…  I didn’t think there was a specific way to read a textbook, but ok.

Do you think I should do anything else for my resolutions?

Happy New Year!

My Favorite Youtubers

Hey guys!  So today, I am making a post about my favorite youtubers!

Theodd1sout:

Many of you guys know who this is.  If you don’t, his name is James.  I like him because he makes funny animations and videos.  He also tells us some things that happen during his life and some stuff about himself. (BUT JAAAAAAAMMMMMESSSS!!!)

Jaiden Animations:

Like James, Jaiden makes a lot of funny animations and videos.  And that’s why I like her! She also talks about her funny life stories that, as she says,  “provide us with entertainment, but makes her die up a bit inside”

PrestonPlayz

PrestonPlayz is a youtuber that does a lot of Minecraft parkour, maps, and bed wars.  He is really funny, and does a lot of RANDOM stuff with his friends.  I actually now make better parkour watching him do parkour people made, so now I make better parkour.  Before it was just blocks… Sad blocks… *Sits in emo corner with purple, depressed anime lines going down the back of head* Lonely Cactus…

Aphmau

(Sorry guys, I tried to find her thumbnail, but it was all fan art.) I LOVE Aphmau’s videos.  She plays Minecraft and she does a lot of Minecraft role plays, like My Street, Phoenix Drop High, Minecraft Diaries, and the newest one, Falcon Claw University.  She also does a lot of hide and seek, guess who, and Minecraft murder.  All her role plays have a different adventure, so it’s not boring.  It all revolves around her and her friends, and she always ends up with Aaron, who is her husband in real life.  We later find out that Aaron is the Ultima werewolf, so he is kind of hated by people, but no one knows.  He has the power to turn people into werewolves, so…yeah.

gamer s

Well, gamer s, I don’t really know much about him/her.  I just watch all the Fairy Tail episodes I am catching up on.  So, I thought I might as well talk about him/her.

SBC Week 10: Activity 1

How many posts did you write?

11, well, since October 2017.

How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge?

Actually, only one of my posts were about school, and four of my posts were about my interests.

How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students?

In total, I got 15 comments.  12 were from people outside of my school and 3 were from my school.

Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened?

The post that received the most comments was the SBC Week 7: Hunger post.  I think it got he most because Miss W put that post into the Flipboard magazine (Thanks Miss W!)

Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?

Oh, this is a tough one.  Um… Maybe my post about anime.  That was a really fun one because I LOVE anime a lot.

Did you change blog themes at all and why?

Yes, I did.  I originally had a cherry blossom theme, but I changed it to the Adelle theme, because it was a bit more organized than the cherry blossom one, so I chose that instead.

How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough?

I have 7 widgets consisting of my friend’s blogs and a calendar.  I think it is the right amount of widgets, not to much, and not to little.

How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll?

I actually don’t have any overseas students on my blogroll.  (Sorry guys! You guys are cool, but I might put some of you guy on later, just not now)

Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog?

I only use a calendar, but that’s kinda boring.  I mostly try to show some of my creativity through my posts.

Then, I asked my younger sister to evaluate my blog.

Me    Megan

What were your first impressions of this blog?

I thought it was exciting.

What captured your attention?

All the pictures. 😀

What distracted you on the blog?

Some of the pictures distracted me.  Mostly the ones about my dogs and the Sailor Moon picture.

What suggestions can you give me to improve my blog?

None.  I think it’s fine.

Thanks Megan!  By the way, those were her actual answers.  I just altered them a bit to make more sense.

Week 8: Activity 2

Hey guys!  So for the SBC I have been visiting 3 people.

First I visited Nook’s post about French fries!

(spoiler alert: they aren’t French) I chose this post because I thought it was interesting to find out where French fries originated and how it became called French fries. I wrote:

Hi Nook,
I really liked your post! I thought it was interesting to learn how French fries were made. To be honest, I actually thought French fries came from France. Was this hard to research? Come check out my blog!:
https://hmsjennifer.edublogs.org/

Next, I visited Rheagan’s post!

I read her post, and I really liked it.  She wrote about her bucket list.  I thought it was really interesting and I thought it was really good.  I wrote:

Hi Rheagan,
I think this is a great list! I think bullying isn’t right either and should stop too. It hurts other people. I also think you should go to Japan. It is very nice there and everyone there is nice. If you get a car, you should go to Japan. They have a real life Mario Kart attraction that you can tour the city with. I saw it somewhere and I thought it looked really fun. Come check out my blog!:
https://hmsjennifer.edublogs.org/

Last, but not least, I visited Abigail’s post about her.  I chose it because I thought it would be nice to know about someone else (I am not a stalker).  I wrote:

Hi Abigail,
I have a golden retriever. Her name is Lily and she is so fluffy! I also have a shiba inu named Sophie. I also love reading books. I recommend a series called “Warriors”. It’s my favorite series. It is about cats that have to survive in the wild. Come check out my blog!:

SBC Week 7: Hunger

STOP!  Ok, before continuing I want you to think about something.  What did you have for dinner last night? Breakfast today? You probably ate something right? Well, I don’t think you realize how lucky you are.

Every day, you probably eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some snacks.  You just find something to eat on your plate, in your lunchbox, or in your bag and you probably think: Oh, cool.  Food.  I’m just going to eat it. Did it ever come to you that not everyone HAS food?  I’m serious.

Everyday, there are people who don’t have food to eat.  They either scavenge around trash cans for food or don’t eat at all.  Not everyone can afford food.  There are 815 million people that don’t eat or don’t have enough to eat. You’re probably thinking: Just go get Mc Donalds! It is so cheap there! But what if they don’t HAVE a Mc Donalds? What is the can’t AFFORD Mc Donalds?

Well, what can we do to help? You can donate canned food to different charities or organizations or give food to the homeless.

I want to tell you a story.  You can watch it here.  This video shows just how much one person can help others.

What do YOU think you can do to help people that can’t afford food?

Here are some links if you want to learn more about world hunger:

Well that’s all for now!

Cats

Hey guys! So, as you know by reading the title, I will be writing about cats and different breeds.  I am writing about them because it was the first thing I thought of, and I like cats.  Cats can domestic and feral

There are many different breeds of cats, but here are the ten most unusual cat breeds.  These cats include sphynx, peterbald, munchkin, devon rex, Japanese bobtail, Scottish fold, khao manee, pixie-bob, savannah, and teacup Persian.  Sphynxes are hairless cats with oily skin.  Peterbalds are like sphynxes, but with webbed paws that they can use to pick up objects and possibly open doors.  Munchkins have unusually short legs, which is a result of a genetic mutation.  Devon rex cats have short, curly, soft fur.  They are also intelligent and they can be taught tricks.  Japanese bobtails have short, fluffy tails like a rabbits, and some hop when they run (also like a rabbit).  Scottish fold cats have folded ears, round, full faces, and large, circular eyes, which make them look kind of like owls.  Khao manee cats come from Thailand, and their names mean “White Gem”.  They have creamy, white coats and their eyes can either be blue, gold, or both.  Pixie-bobs are believed to come from other bobcat hybrids, but there is no genetic evidence.  Savannah cats look like wild cats from the African Savannah.  Savannah cats are a cross breed of domestic cats and a medium-sized wild African cat.  Last, but not least, teacup Persians!  Teacup Persians are bred to be small.  They are so tiny, they can fit on your palm!

Feral cats have a sad life.  When you go to the animal shelter and you see cats, you probably think: “Oh, those cats were bred here or someone brought a cat here after they couldn’t take care of it.”  That’s not always the case.  A lot of those cats were feral cats.  Cats only have three possible outcomes once they enter a shelter or a pound.  Being adopted, being reunited with their owner, or… death.  Some feral cats can’t adjust living  with humans, and they have no owner to claim them, so the only possible outcome is death.  Feral cats are “unhealthy” or “untrainable” which excludes them from “healthy animal” kill rates.  I don’t think this is right.  Do you?  This is unfair to them.  They don’t deserve to be killed at animal shelters.

Well, I guess that’s all!  Here are some links to cat stuff…

Oh, and here are some random facts about cats.

  • Unlike dogs, cats don’t have a sweet tooth.
  • A group of cats is called a clowder.
  • A technical term for a cat’s hairball is “bezoar”.
  • Cats make about 100 sounds, while dogs only make ten.
  • According to Hebrew legend, Noah prayed to God for help protecting all the food he stored on the ark from being eaten by rats. In reply, God made the lion sneeze, and out popped a cat.
  • A cat’s hearing is better than a dog’s. And a cat can hear high-frequency sounds up to two octaves higher than a human.
  • A cat rubs against people not only to be affectionate but also to mark out its territory with scent glands around its face. The tail area and paws also carry the cat’s scent.
  • Most cats give birth to a litter of between one and nine kittens. The largest known litter ever produced was 19 kittens, of which 15 survived.
  • A cat’s brain is biologically more similar to a human brain than it is to a dog’s. Both humans and cats have identical regions in their brains that are responsible for emotions.
  • Some cats have survived falls of over 65 feet (20 meters), due largely to their “righting reflex.” The eyes and balance organs in the inner ear tell it where it is in space so the cat can land on its feet. Even cats without a tail have this ability.
  • Cats hate the water because their fur does not insulate well when it’s wet. The Turkish Van, however, is one cat that likes swimming. Bred in central Asia, its coat has a unique texture that makes it water resistant.
  • The first commercially cloned pet was a cat named “Little Nicky.” He cost his owner $50,000, making him one of the most expensive cats ever.
  • A  cat usually has about 12 whiskers on each side of its face.
  • A cat’s eyesight is both better and worse than humans. It is better because cats can see in much dimmer light and they have a wider peripheral view. It’s worse because they don’t see color as well as humans do. Scientists believe grass appears red to cats.
  • On average, cats spend 2/3 of every day sleeping. That means a nine-year-old cat has been awake for only three years of its life.
  • In the original Italian version of Cinderella, the benevolent fairy godmother figure was a cat.
  • The ability of a cat to find its way home is called “psi-traveling.” Experts think cats either use the angle of the sunlight to find their way or that cats have magnetized cells in their brains that act as compasses.
  • A cat’s jaw can’t move sideways, so a cat can’t chew large chunks of food.
  • Cats don’t actually meow at each other, just at humans. Cats typically will spit, purr, and hiss at other cats.
  • Female cats tend to be right pawed, while male cats are more often left pawed. Interestingly, while 90% of humans are right handed, the remaining 10% of lefties also tend to be male
  • A cat lover is called an Ailurophilia .
  • In Japan, cats are thought to have the power to turn into super spirits when they die. This may be because according to the Buddhist religion, the body of the cat is the temporary resting place of very spiritual people.
  • One reason that kittens sleep so much is because a growth hormone is released only during sleep.
  • The oldest cat on record was Crème Puff from Austin, Texas, who lived from 1967 to August 6, 2005, three days after her 38th birthday. A cat typically can live up to 20 years, which is equivalent to about 96 human years.
  • The normal body temperature of a cat is between 100.5 ° and 102.5 °F. A cat is sick if its temperature goes below 100 ° or above 103 °F.
  • Foods that should not be given to cats include onions, garlic, green tomatoes, raw potatoes, chocolate, grapes, and raisins. Though milk is not toxic, it can cause an upset stomach and gas. Tylenol and aspirin are extremely toxic to cats, as are many common houseplants. Feeding cats dog food or canned tuna that’s for human consumption can cause malnutrition
  • In just seven years, a single pair of cats and their offspring could produce a staggering total of 420,000 kittens.
  • Cats don’t have sweat glands over their bodies like humans do. Instead, they sweat only through their paws.
  • A cat called Dusty has the known record for the most kittens. She had more than 420 kittens in her lifetime.
  • Cats are extremely sensitive to vibrations. Cats are said to detect earthquake tremors 10 or 15 minutes before humans can.
  • A female cat is called a queen or a molly.
  • The oldest cat to give birth was Kitty who, at the age of 30, gave birth to two kittens. During her life, she gave birth to 218 kittens.
  • The claws on the cat’s back paws aren’t as sharp as the claws on the front paws because the claws in the back don’t retract and, consequently, become worn.
  • The richest cat is Blackie who was left £15 million ($19932000.00) by his owner, Ben Rea.

Well, that’s all for today!

Keep Rocking!
